Accident Insurance in Dade City
A broken wrist costs more than the cast. There is the deductible, the follow-up visits and the shifts you miss while it heals. An accident plan pays you cash for covered injuries. We read each benefit schedule closely so the plan you pick pays out when it counts.

How accident insurance works and who it suits
Accident insurance is supplemental coverage. It works next to your health plan and pays a fixed cash amount for certain injuries and the care after them: an urgent care trip, an X-ray, a fracture, stitches, an ambulance, a hospital stay. You receive the money, not the provider, so you choose where it goes.
It usually fits people with a high deductible, families with active children, and anyone who loses income when they cannot work. It does not stand in for major medical coverage, and if your Individual Health Insurance or Family Health Insurance already protects you well, we will tell you directly.
Accident plans with close premiums can pay out quite differently. What separates them is the benefit schedule, the definitions and the fine print, and that is where we focus.
What we go through with you
Your current coverage first
We start with the deductible and out-of-pocket maximum on the plan you already have. That number tells us how much an accident plan actually needs to cover.
Benefit schedules, line by line
Each carrier lists what it pays for a fracture, a dislocation, a hospital admission or a follow-up visit. We lay these side by side so you can see which plan pays more for the injuries most likely in your life.
On-the-job and off-the-job coverage
Some plans cover injuries only off the clock, assuming workers' comp handles the rest. Others cover you both at work and away from it. If you are self-employed, this one detail matters a great deal.
Definitions and exclusions
We check how each plan defines an accident, and what it leaves out, such as certain sports or motorized recreation. Better to know now than after a claim.
Family options and riders
You can often add a spouse or children, and some plans include a small yearly wellness benefit. We show you what those additions cost in premium and what they return.
When an accident plan may be worth considering
You carry a high deductible
If an urgent care visit and some X-rays would take a real bite out of your savings, a cash payout can fill a good part of that gap.
Your children play sports
Practices and weekend games bring sprains, breaks and stitches. Covering the family on an accident plan often costs little next to the price of a single injury.
No work means no paycheck
When you are paid hourly or work for yourself, an injury hits twice. Cash from an accident plan can go toward rent and groceries while you heal.
Your job is physical
Outdoor and hands-on work makes injuries more likely. For you, the policy's on-the-job language needs a close read.
You enrolled and never compared
Lots of people sign up for an accident plan at work and never check if it still suits them. Taking a second look is free.
What a consultation looks like
- 1
A quick first call
Call us and we will go over your health coverage, your job and who should be on the plan. From there we can meet at the office or keep going by phone or video, whichever you prefer.
- 2
Plans next to each other
We gather accident plans from several carriers and line up their benefit schedules, premiums and main exclusions. You get the figures, not a pitch.
- 3
Fine print in plain terms
We go over waiting periods, how to file a claim and the paperwork each carrier wants. If a plan is not a good value for you, we say so.
- 4
Signing up and beyond
When you pick a plan, we complete the application with you and confirm when it starts. If you have a claim later, call us and we will help you sort out what the carrier is asking for.
What affects the premium
Among supplemental plans, accident insurance tends to be on the less expensive side, yet prices still differ by carrier and plan design. The aim is a premium in line with what the plan would really pay you. The carrier you choose pays our commission, not you, so the comparison costs you nothing.
- Who the plan covers
- Covering only yourself costs less than including a spouse and children. Adding family raises the premium, and every benefit then applies to them too.
- How much it pays
- Plans that pay more for fractures, hospital stays and follow-up visits cost more each month. We help you choose a level that matches your deductible.
- Coverage at work
- Plans that pay for injuries both on and off the job usually cost more than plans limited to off-the-job injuries.
- What you do for a living
- Some carriers set rates by occupation and put physical jobs in a higher class.
- Add-on riders
- Options such as a wellness benefit or extra hospital coverage raise the premium. Each should be worth what it adds.
Common accident insurance questions
Something not covered here? (352) 290-4271
Can accident insurance take the place of my health plan?
No. It is supplemental coverage that pays you a fixed cash amount for covered injuries, while your major medical plan still carries most of the load. If you have no health coverage yet, we can start by reviewing ACA Marketplace Plans or Individual Health Insurance with you.
Who gets paid after an injury?
In most cases, you. Accident plans generally pay the policyholder instead of the clinic or hospital. Use it for your deductible, a copay, gas for appointments or the bills that keep coming while you recover.
Is illness covered as well?
No. Accident plans pay for injuries from accidents, not sickness. Carriers each define an accident a bit differently, and we show you those definitions before you decide.
Do I need to wait until open enrollment?
Plenty of individual accident plans can begin outside open enrollment, though some include a brief waiting period before benefits kick in. For each plan we show you, we confirm the start date and any waiting period.
Is there a bill for comparing plans with you?
No. The insurance company whose plan you pick pays us, so comparing accident plans with us costs you nothing. If you choose not to buy, you still owe nothing.
